During the month of February, for all <a href=\"https:\/\/tmys.us\/3PIKxBO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new TommyClub members<\/a> who purchased <a href=\"https:\/\/tmys.us\/3RS1viP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The WORKS wash<\/a>, Tommy\u2019s Express automatically donated a portion of the proceeds back to the national nonprofit organization.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>A few Tommy\u2019s Express employees at the corporate headquarters have personal connections to the Grand Rapids, Michigan chapter of the American Heart Association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June of 2022, eight female Tommy\u2019s Express employees attended the<strong>\u202f<\/strong>local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goredforwomen.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Go Red for Women<\/a><strong> <\/strong>luncheon. Featuring inspiration, education, and community among women, the lunch was a call to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart.org\/en\/health-topics\/diabetes\/prevention--treatment-of-diabetes\/know-your-health-numbers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">know your heart health numbers<\/a> and draw attention to heart disease.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tommys-express.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/AHA-blog_insert.png\" alt=\"Tommy's Express team members\" class=\"wp-image-1488\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Go Red for Women<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The American Heart Association movement Go Red for Women was launched in 2004 with the goal of raising awareness and fighting a woman\u2019s greatest heath threat \u2014 cardiovascular disease. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Go Red for Women not only advocates for the health of all women but also funds lifesaving research and educates women across the United States and around the world. It is committed to removing the unique barriers women face to experiencing better health and well-being.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goredforwomen.org\/en\/about-heart-disease-in-women\/facts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">three facts you need to know about women and cardiovascular disease<\/a>:\u00a0<br>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cardiovascular disease kills more women than all forms of cancer combined, and yet only 44% of women\u202frecognize that cardiovascular disease is their greatest health threat.\u00a0<br>\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Among females 20 years and older, nearly 45% are living with some form of cardiovascular disease, and less than 50% of women entering pregnancy in the United States have good heart health.\u00a0<br>\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of new moms and accounts for over one-third of maternal deaths. Black women have some of the highest maternal mortality rates.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sparking CPR education and training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tommy&#8217;s Express employees were inspired at the lunch. Together, they initiated annual first aid\/CPR training at offices in Michigan and asked to have AEDs available at all Tommy&#8217;s Express offices and warehouses.\u202f\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Red Cross<\/a> offers a variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/take-a-class\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">training and certification options<\/a>, both in-person and online.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you up-to-date on training?
