Our internship program is a thoughtful, well-rounded experience. We start with onboarding to train new employees and encourage many touchpoints throughout the summer. Events include intern lunches, team-building events, and an end-of-program intern expo to showcase a project that impacted the business.

Timeframe for Tommy’s Express internships

The internship program runs from mid-May to the first week of August.

Internship opportunities available at Tommy’s Express

This year, Tommy’s Express is looking for young talent for a UI/UX intern, a Digital Marketing Intern, and a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op. Previous internships at Tommy’s Express include spots in administration, IT, learning and development for retail operations, marketing, and engineering.

Tommy’s Express offers co-op opportunities

Yes! We also offer a co-op program within our engineering department. Previous hires have worked in mechanical engineering and controls. Co-ops provide students with more in-depth and extensive work experience. Depending on your school’s co-op requirements, co-op durations vary.

Car wash jobs

Separate from our internship program, working at Tommy’s Express is a great way to earn some money while school’s out for the summer (or even throughout the school year). Tommy’s new company headquarters is being built off M-40 in Holland. This new HQ will consolidate operations from several existing locations into a single 75,000-square-foot office and 2000,000+ square-foot warehouse space.

Lemmen brings an international perspective and growth-centric mindset to the Tommy’s Express team, having served for approximately five years with distinction as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). BCG is a highly respected global management consulting firm and the world’s leading advisor on business strategy.

Ryan Essenburg, Co-Founder of Tommy’s Express, stated: “Alex brings a perspective and skill set that is essential to our sustained growth and profitability. His experience with BCG puts him in a select group of individuals with the experience needed to scale a business to a national and international level.”

While his former responsibilities focused on global consumer goods and retail sectors, primarily concentrated in Latin America and the United States, Lemmen will now be responsible for helping the Tommy’s Express franchise navigate their aggressive national growth and future ventures into international territory.

Lemmen is a native of West Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M Ross School of Business.
